AeroMexico, the global airline of Latin America, has announced that it will launch non-stop flights between Chicago and Morelia, Mexico beginning December 4. Flights will be available four days a week initially with an increase to daily service between December 15 and January 11, 2009, for the holiday season. The airline will offer the best value in the market with competitive fares and premier service on these non-stop flights with connecting service throughout Mexico. Attractively priced vacation packages, which include airfare, hotel and rental car, will also be available through AeroMexico Vacations. The new flights expand the airline’s current international service between Chicago and Mexico City or Guadalajara of three daily flights.

We have added these non-stop flights in response to increased market demand from customers and travel agents.”He added, “We expect many passengers on this route will include U.S. Mexicans who are visiting friends and relatives in Morelia. Morelia is also becoming an increasingly important destination for international business and tourism.”
Flights will depart from Chicago at 8:30 p.m. CST and arrive in Morelia at 1:30 a.m. on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Departures from Morelia to Chicago are scheduled at 2:20 a.m. with arrivals in Chicago at 6:20 a.m. CST on the same days. Convenient connecting flights are available to Mexico City and 40 destinations in Mexico as well as 12 cities in Latin America, Europe and Asia.
Passengers on every AeroMexico flight between Chicago and Morelia will enjoy the airline’s distinctive style of service, which has been recognized with major industry awards. The Chicago metropolitan statistical area ranks as the nation’s fourth largest concentration of residents of Hispanic/Latino origin, according to 2006 U.S. Census estimates. Almost one in five area residents, or more than 1.8 million individuals, is of Hispanic/Latino origin. Morelia, the capital of the state of Michoacán, is a thriving metropolitan area of more than 640,000 that lies in an agricultural region between Mexico City and Guadalajara.
