“GolTV, the only live bilingual channel delivering 24/7 soccer, will launch on Cox Greater Louisiana’s digital tier (Channel 288) in the Baton Rouge and Acadiana markets as part of the Paquete Latino on Nov. 12. Cox customers will soon have front-row access to GolTV’s unique, non-stop soccer coverage in Spanish.

“With the addition of GolTV’s programming, our customers will score comprehensive global soccer coverage and high-quality content from one of the highest-ranked Hispanic cable networks,” said Jacqui Vines, senior vice president and general manager for Cox’s Greater Louisiana system. “The GolTV launch will strengthen our Spanish-language line-up for the growing Hispanic population across south Louisiana.”

Many of the most-watched soccer matches in Spanish-language cable households are shown only on GolTV, including world-class matches from Spain’s La Liga and Germany’s Bundesliga.  GolTV is also the exclusive U.S. provider of 2010 World Cup qualifying match coverage of the German and Italian national teams.

“The international soccer season is underway on GolTV, and now Cox subscribers can join in the excitement as we venture around the globe to deliver coverage of some of the most intense matches in the world,” said Rodrigo Lombello, COO of GolTV.  “Like Cox, many cable operators are becoming more aware of the value of GolTV as an essential channel offering for Latino soccer fans.””
