At a ceremony held last night, the National Council on Economic Education (NCEE), the leading network in the U.S. focused on promoting economic literacy, honored Julie Stav, Univision’s financial guru and host of “Tu Dinero Con Julie Stav” (Your Money with Julie Stav), with the prestigious Visionary Award for her extensive work in the economic empowerment of millions of Hispanics.
“Julie Stav is most deserving of this prestigious honor from the National Council on Economic Education,” said Gary Stone, president and chief operating officer, Univision Radio. “Through her show on Univision Radio, ‘Tu Dinero Con Julie Stav,’ Julie helps millions of Hispanics providing expertise in finance and is regarded not only as a teacher but a respected leader within the Hispanic community.”
The Visionary Awards dinner brought together leaders in business, media, public service, and education to honor champions of economic empowerment in all of its many forms, from those who have raised awareness about the need for economic and financial literacy, to those who succeeded in their chosen field by using sound economic decision-making and have turned that success into good public works.
Stav reaches millions of listeners everyday with “Tu Dinero con Julie Stav,” which is syndicated nationally on Univision Radio, delivering practical, life-changing financial advice. Stav also conducts consumer and personal finance segments twice weekly on Univision Network’s top rated national Spanish-language morning show, “Despierta America (Wake Up America).” She is a regular contributor to “Noticiero Univision” (Univision Network News) and frequently writes a financial column for Univision Online. Additionally, Stav is the bestselling author of Get Your Share and Fund Your Future, both New York Times best sellers.
The NCEE ( www.ncee.net) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to improving economic and financial literacy. Both directly and through its unique nationwide network of State Councils and more than 200 university-based Centers for Economic Education, NCEE’s programs reach over 150,000 K-12 teachers and more than 15 million students in more than 70,000 schools each year. “
