“Vallarta Supermarkets Inc., a fast-growing San Fernando Valley (CA)-based American supermarket chain with a Hispanic emphasis and 25 locations in California, has acquired a near new 89,693 square foot corporate headquarters and distribution center at the strategic “Golden Triangle” of Sylmar, CA, announces Delphi Business Properties, Inc.

David Hoffberg, senior vice president of Van Nuys, CA-based Delphi Business Properties, reports that Vallarta Supermarkets Inc. purchased the high profile two-building complex located on 4.3 acres at 12881 and 12883 Bradley Ave., Sylmar. A fall occupancy is scheduled. Vallarta Supermarkets is currently headquartered in San Fernando.

Hoffberg and Jerry Scullin, chief operating officer of Delphi Business Properties, represented Vallarta Supermarkets. Ross Thomas, SIOR, chief executive officer of Delphi, represented the seller, Hydrel Realty Partners. Purchase price was not disclosed.

“Vallarta Supermarkets had been looking specifically for a headquarters in the Golden Triangle area at the intersection of the 118, 5 and 210 Freeways. This site is a bullseye,” Hoffberg said.

Vallarta Supermarkets caters to the growing Hispanic population of California and sells items usually not found in other supermarkets. The chain recently expanded to the San Joaquin Valley. The chain boasts fresh produce, full-service meat departments and in-store taquerias in most locations. Vallarta Supermarkets was founded in 1985.

Key features of the new Vallarta Supermarkets headquarters/distribution facilities include 10 dock high doors, 14,110 square feet of office space, 24-feet of minimum clear height in one of the buildings, and total on-site parking for 150 cars.
