According to the Bureau of the Census, the Hispanic population of Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Susquehanna, Wayne and Wyoming counties increased by nearly 5,000 between 2006 and 2007, to just over 44,000 — an increase of more than 10%.
