-Tax preparers are set to increase their productivity with the introduction of MultiTax, a new software program designed to address the challenges of tax preparation for Latino and other immigrant taxpayers. Developed by Latino Tax Software, MultiTax features a number of industry-firsts that enable tax preparers to process tax returns more efficiently and grow their business rapidly.
The tax preparer and taxpayer community that benefits from MultiTax is large and growing - during the past year, the Internal Revenue Service has assigned more than two million Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs), and there are more than 4,500 IRS-authorized Acceptance Agents. Since many immigrants have never filed their taxes, MultiTax’s ability to view and prepare multiple tax years simultaneously is a leap forward in productivity.
“There has been no solution in the market that enables the preparation of multiple years of taxes without having to go in and out of software for different tax years, which results in a huge time loss,” says Manuel Alvarez, president and co-founder of Latino Tax Software. “As tax preparers, we saw the need for a solution that allows us to process more ITINs & tax returns in less time and more efficiently,” he adds.

MultiTax is being introduced at the 2008 IRS Tax Forum in Chicago (July 22 & 23), where thousands of tax preparers and industry professionals can experience the program’s unique functionality. Latino Tax Software will also conduct product demonstrations at upcoming IRS Tax Forums in Orlando, Las Vegas, New York, and San Diego.
