When Cristián de la Fuente and Eva Longoria announcement the nominees of the 2008 Alma Award nominees, Longoria explained that she wanted to shine the light on some new talent: “Everybody knows Desperate Housewives, let’s recognise the people that you may not know on certain shows,” she said. Despite being one of the most famous Latino faces in Hollywood, Longoria didn’t feel right about putting her own name in the running”*
