Leveraging its success as the pioneer in online Latin American news, Casa Editorial EL TIEMPO is working with Crisp Wireless to monetize and brand the El Tiempo mobile website, not only in Colombia but throughout the United States and Latin America. Approximately 2.16 million Colombians live in the United States and 1.8 million live in other Latin American countries, all which stay very current with the latest news in Colombia and Latin America. In addition, 33.5 million Colombians, or 78 percent of the population subscribe to mobile services, representing a huge market potential for Casa Editorial EL TIEMPO.
In Latin America, 90% of all mobile marketing initiatives are SMS based. The El Tiempo mobile site will be the first Media WAP site in Colombia. The mobile website will feature five content categories: Colombian, world, sports, finance and entertainment news.
The mobile site (m.eltiempo.com/) can be accessed through any mobile phone in the world although El Tiempo’s Marketing and Communications Strategy will be focus on the Colombian market.
