Knowledge is Power!
There are many exciting things are taking place in the Tejano music industry. In the past two years however, changes in radio station ownership, marketing and programming have all but completely eliminated the beloved music of the Tejano community from terrestrial radio in Austin, Texas. Consequently, the lack of a full-time Tejano radio station has created a void for Tejano musicians and artists, businesses and the Mexican-American community as a whole. The mission of the Austin Tejano Music Coalition is to bring awareness of these and other issues to the forefront and to convey the message that we want and deserve a full-time Tejano radio station which serves the entire Mexican-American community. This e-newsletter is meant to provide an avenue of communication for Tejano music fans in Central Texas. We hope you will find it helpful and informative. -LIZ HERNANDEZ, EDITOR
