“Carmelita Tropicana and Marga Gómez, performance artists with Cuban roots, started out in the alternative theater scene of the lower East Side in the late ’80s.

But don’t ask them how old they are.

“We’re ageless,” says Tropicana, stroking her neck with cool diva attitude.

“Yeah,” agrees Gómez, tossing her head with tomboyish charm. “We’re all about the now.””*
