“Hudson County jail’s first Latina corrections officer to reach the rank of sergeant will be honored by the National Latino Peace Officers Association this month.

The association plans to honor the Puerto Rican-born Sgt. Maria Gaines, 45, on June 22, said Robert Velasquez, the Hudson County chapter president of the NLPOA.”*
