Eva Longoria Parker, star of TV’s “Desperate Housewives,” is to preside over the upcoming 2008 ALMA Awards at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, ABC said.

The awards show honoring Latino contributions to the entertainment industry is to be taped Aug. 17 and to air Sept. 12 on ABC, the network said.

Longoria Parker will be the telecast’s executive producer, as well as its host.”*
