When the federal commission filed the lawsuit last September, it said a top manager had severely harassed black and Hispanic employees, sometimes addressing them as “ignorant immigrants” and ridiculing their accents.
Moreover, commission officials said the restaurant had retaliated against employees for objecting to the harassment. The retaliation often took the form of reducing work hours or pay, commission officials said.”*
