World-renowned art auctioneers Christie’s and Sotheby’s will hold dueling auctions of Latin American masterworks this week, including iconic paintings by Rufino Tamayo, Diego Rivera and Fernando Botero.
Tamayo’s “Troubadour” (1945), which depicts a musician strumming his guitar as two women watch, will top the list at Christie’s New York showroom on Wednesday.”*
