Epana Networks and HealthTrans Announce Partnership to Provide Pharmacy Discounts to U.S. Hispanics

Epana Networks, Inc., through its subsidiary Kare Distribution, Inc., a leading manufacturer, marketer and direct distributor of high quality, Hispanic-focused prepaid calling cards, today announced a partnership with HealthTrans Inc. to provide pharmacy discounts through Kare’s newly launched consumer loyalty program — Club Bienestar. Club Bienestar was launched in Dec. 2007 as the first and only loyalty program in the prepaid phone card industry targeting the U.S. Hispanic consumer.

Effective April 28th, the Kare and HealthTrans partnership provides Club Bienestar members and their immediate family to receive automatic and complimentary enrollment in Acceso HealthTrans. Acceso HealthTrans is a pharmacy discount program that provides discounts to its members at certain participating pharmacies for drugs and other healthcare supplies. Pharmacy discounts comprise prescription medications, over the counter medications, smoking cessation aids and diabetes supplies.

This partnership leverages Kare and HealthTrans’ unique company strengths to provide access and value to the much sought-after U.S. Hispanic consumer. With an average in excess of 30 million calls per month from Kare’s prepaid calling cards and over 50,000 participating pharmacies nationwide in the HealthTrans network the test phase of the partnership will identify areas of opportunity for each company. HealthTrans pharmacy discounts will average 16% on brand drugs and 55% on generic drugs; though discounts can range up to as high as 70%. Club Bienestar members simply present their card and a valid prescription at a participating pharmacy to receive their pharmacy discount. The entire family can use it regardless of age, income, health status and immigration status.

Club Bienestar retail efforts will focus on one of Kare’s leading flagship prepaid phone card brands Mi Carnal. The Mi Carnal brand represents multi-million dollars in annual sales by targeting Mexico-centric destinations. Kare’s full suite of sales, marketing and technical organizational capabilities will be utilized to support Club Bienestar, including retail merchandising, grass roots marketing, consumer promotions, customized IVR (interactive voice response) messages, on-pack advertising and media promotions.
