The company’s board voted earlier this month to cease operations because it had failed to find new investors or to get picked up by cable providers.
LAT TV operated KCVH channel 30 in Houston and also aired in Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and Phoenix. Burd said the company was close to reaching agreements with Comcast in Houston and Cox Communications in Phoenix, but talks with Time Warner Cable in other markets were not going well and LAT TV’s private investor decided to stop funding the station because its success was predicated on getting picked up by cable, Burd said.”*
