Justices of the peace at Pima County Consolidated Justice Court recently elected the county’s first female Mexican-American presiding judge.
“It floors me,” Judge Maria Lilia Felix said Friday about being the first.
“You just take it for granted that there are women everywhere, but I guess this goes to show you that you can’t take it for granted,” Felix said.”*
