Knowledge is Power!
What a wonderful day we recently had at UNC for the 11th Annual Latina Youth Leadership Conference! Approximately 250 young women descended on the UNC Ballroom from nine area middle schools: University, Chappelow, Heath, Maplewood, Milliken, John Evans, Brentwood, Franklin and Eaton. They were excited and obviously eager to learn everything that was offered to them on this special day.
Sponsored by the UNC Kappa Chapter of Lambda Theta Nu, Kappa Chapter is one of 31 chapters of Lambda Theta Nu in California, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, Texas and Nevada. Their primary focus is on academic excellence while meeting the needs of Latinas in higher education. Because its priorities are so focused on academic excellence, this Kappa Chapter has been recognized at UNC for having one of the highest grade-point averages of all the Greek organizations on campus.”*
