Chilean rocker Beto Cuevas kept the songs he composed in the three years since his band La Ley broke up a top secret.
“I didn’t want my fans to suffer from demoitis,” says the former leader of the Grammy-winning group, making up a disease that causes fans to get used to the sound of demo tapes and reject the final recording.
“That’s why I want people to first listen to these songs live — a sort of Off-Broadway for the songs,” adds Cuevas, 40, from San Jose, Calif., during a stop in his tour that will bring him to New York Saturday for a solo debut at Irving Plaza.”*
