Cuban-born Jon Secada, a smooth vocalist who cut his teeth with the Miami Sound Machine and rode a string of smash singles to stardom in the early 1990s, hasn’t quit the business, but rather shifted into a role of pop music elder statesman, logging time on Broadway, appearing as a judge on Latin American Idol, touring and recording (Secada’s next album, the tentatively titled bilingual disc Classics, is due out this year).”*
