“In the last three months, Los Angeles has been visited by a wave of work-site and residential immigration raids. These raids have been witnessed by most Latino and Asian communities, whose media have carried most of the events live as they happened.

Millions of individuals in Los Angeles and across the country have witnessed workers being arrested and detained and have heard the pleas from their loved ones to Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to let their mothers, fathers and spouses stay in this country. To date, more than 200 workers have been detained by authorities; some have been deported. Many of those caught up in the raids were U.S. citizens and legal immigrants to this country.”*
