“More than 100 marchers took to the sidewalks in Dallas on Thursday, calling for an end to raids and deportations as part of a comprehensive immigration overhaul – a group that stood in sharp contrast to the hundreds of thousands who marched in 2006.

They made their way downtown, arriving at Dallas City Hall around 6:15 p.m. with chants of “Sí se puede!” or “Yes, we can.”

Behind them, bells jingled from the carts of paleteros –or ice cream vendors – who are among the lowest of low-paid immigrant workers.
