“Key South Carolina lawmakers say they’ll support severe sanctions against employers who hire illegal immigrants.

The statements Thursday come a day after the state Senate approved a measure that would fine employers up to $10,000 for knowingly hiring an illegal immigrant. It also would send employers to prison for five years if they falsified documents.”*
