Greene Broillet & Wheeler Clients Hurt at the 2007 MacArthur Park Immigration Rights Rally Will Hold a Press Conference on May 1st

“WHAT:
A press conference will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the law firm of Greene Broillet & Wheeler, 100 Wilshire Boulevard, 21st Floor, Santa Monica, CA. 90401 by the firm’s clients who were allegedly injured during the MacArthur Park Immigration Rights Rally held last May in Los Angeles, CA. The Plaintiffs will discuss the impact of the LAPD’s failure to complete its investigation of the “May Day” events, as well as the failure of any governmental agency to file any criminal charges against members of the LAPD. At the press conference, Browne Greene, who represents the Plaintiffs, will announce the filing of a Pitchess Motion for discovery of LAPD internal investigation and personnel records.

WHO:

Participating in the press conference will be Patricia “Patti” Ballaz (KTTV Fox camerawoman), Raad Elias (Telemundo security guard) and Theodore “Ted” Garcia (former KTLA TV news anchor). All of the Plaintiffs were on assignment and were reporting on the May 1, 2007 Immigration Rights Rally at approximately 6:00 PM at MacArthur Park. They were allegedly struck and beaten by members of the Los Angeles Police Department, causing them to sustain severe physical and emotional injuries. The Hon. William F. Highberger is presiding over the lawsuits which have been consolidated and are known under the lead case name of Thomas Frederick Mecozzi vs. City of Los Angeles, and Los Angeles Police Department, Los Angeles Superior Court, Case No. BC377597.
