During the past two weeks, three players tried out for and failed to latch onto both the Galaxy and Chivas USA.
Their impact was most miniscule, their imprint as long-lasting as the blades of grass they ran on.
That Yordany Alvarez, Yenier Bermudez and Jose Manuel Miranda were even able to try out for Major League Soccer clubs was a magnificent accomplishment. They were part of the seven members from Cuba’s Under-23 team who left the squad and left their country behind when they defected during Olympic qualifying in Tampa, Fla., in March.”*
