“A new one-woman musical theater show about the existential crises brought on by long-term immigration answers, “maybe not.”

Despite its heavy themes, “Rootless: La No-Nostalgia,” running at Chashama Theater [at 217 E. 42nd St.] April 11-13, is meant to be a light-hearted exploration, according to its creator, Karina Casiano.

The show, which uses popular songs from Latin American and U.S. traditions - including a Pete Seeger folk song, tangos, rock and Cuban son - is meant to evoke a 1930s-era German-style cabaret, with Casiano singing accompanied by a live pianist, Harry Miller.”*
