“They were like nomads, wandering from place to place as they searched for a suitable space to worship.

The handful of members of the Church of God Inc. first met in the York home of the Rev. Luis Rivera in September 2005. He had recently moved to the area from Philadelphia.

But as the Hispanic congregation grew, they moved: from Prospect Street to Princess Street to the Spanish American Center to King Street and back to the pastor’s home.”*
