Yahoo! Telemundo Launches “El Tri” Fan Site 2008

Yahoo! Telemundo today launched its Mexican National Team’s fan site ‘El Tri’ (www.yahootelemundo.com/tri) on Yahoo! Telemundo Deportes. The site offers Mexican soccer fans complete and up-to-the-minute results and statistics of every match as well as player bios and historical team information, commentary, news, and exclusive videos, photos and blogs on Mexico’s national team.
Starting today, fans will be able access the latest statistics per game and per player as well as news, photos and videos of each match. In addition, through the ‘Zona del Fan’ section, visitors are able to interact with one another through Yahoo! Forums, quickly and easily view the latest results in a daily calendar, participate in daily polls, read trivia and ask each other questions on anything ‘El Tri’-related through Yahoo! Telemundo Respuestas.

“The ‘El Tri’ site provides soccer fans with a complete online community where you can not only access the latest on the tournament news, photos, game results and calendars, but also participate in forums and surveys with other people who share the same passion ,” said Borja Perez, alliance leader, Yahoo! Telemundo. “These special features will enable fans to personalize their experience and build a deeper connection with their favorite team.”

Furthermore, soccer buffs will be able to leave their mark on the site by leaving comments on photos, videos and articles. The site will also feature blogs by Telemundo anchors Alejandro Blanco, Sammy Sadovnik, Karim Mendiburu and Miguel Gurwitz Pardo, who also travels with the team.
