The Yankee Stadium Latinos remember

Tagged: , , ,

“After this baseball season, the arena that we know as Yankee Stadium, the one that has been an icon in New York City and the world, will no longer house the Bronx Bombers.

Since 1923, this town has witnessed record-breaking swings, pitches and catches in that stadium. Some of those legendary moments are especially carved into the memories of Latinos.

Last summer, Alex Rodriguez became the youngest player in major league history to hit 500 home runs. Only two players took fewer games to reach 500: Mark McGwire and Babe Ruth. A-Rod is one of only three players, along with Reggie Martinez Jackson and Darrell Evans, to hit 100 home runs for three different teams.”*
