“Melecia and Alejandro Torres have good reason to fear gang violence — there have been four gang-involved shootings near their Northeast Portland apartment in the past three years. They don’t want their swept up in that world.

So they’re making sure their know that the are ready to help and that are no good.

The Torres is participating in the nation’s first Gang Resistance Education and Training program for families presented in Spanish. Portland Officer Angel Ocasio leads it, with help from five county social workers.”*
