Gov. Bill Richardson of New Mexico is throwing in his lot with Barack Obama. So should we care?
W.C. Varones at Polipundit gives an emphatic “yes!”: “Richardson carries a lot of weight as an elder (in maturity if not age) statesman, governor, Southwesterner, Hispanic, superdelegate, etc. Not to mention that he’s an ex-Clintonista and was on everyone’s short list of VP candidates. By turning on Hillary now, he’s saying that this nomination is over.””*
