“The Astros hired Francisco Romero as a play-by-play broadcaster for their Spanish radio station this year, the club announced on Thursday.

Romero will partner with former Astros catcher and current color analyst Alex Trevino for all 162 games during the 2008 regular season in Spanish. The games are broadcast on KLAT 1010 AM in Houston.

“My family and I are thrilled to join the Houston Astros organization,” Romero said. “I am committed to delivering an exciting and professional broadcast to our Spanish-speaking fans, and I’m looking forward to the start of the season.”"*
