Newsletter readers - Don't forget HispanicTIPS - Gracias, Tomás

“Harry Santiago opened his south side insurance agency to help pay his household bills after a layoff three years ago. Before long, he realized that many Hispanics lack coverage because of language and cultural barriers.

Santiago, 48, is the owner of Santiago Insurance Agency, 1400 S. 11th St., one of a handful of independent, Hispanic-owned insurance agencies in the city. He runs the agency with his wife, Annette.

Santiago Insurance offers home, auto and life insurance to low- and moderate-income Hispanic families who, according to research, are more likely to be uninsured than the overall population.”*
