“Richard Villasana, known as The Mexico Guru, has been invited to speak once again about the One Book, One San Diego campaign during “Library Night” at the 2008 San Diego Latino Film Festival on Tuesday, March 11.

Villasana will talk about Greg Mortenson’s “Three Cups of Tea”, this year’s One Book, One San Diego campaign reading selection. The campaign, initiated by Mayor Jerry Sanders, is aimed at giving San Diegans a means to connect with each other through a common topic of interest. This year’s selection, “Three Cups of Tea”, is an award winning book that highlights how one person can truly make a difference and impact the lives of thousands even in the most dangerous places in the world.

Villasana, an international speaker, writer and president of The Mexico Guru, has been a friend of the San Diego Public Library for many years. Over the years he has donated thousands of dollars in resources and reference materials from Mexico. In past years, Villasana has given workshops on behalf of the library on improving cross cultural communication and marketing to businesses in Mexico. Lynn Whitehouse, Section Supervisor at the downtown library, thanked Villasana for “your continuing support of our library system and your generosity.”

Richard Villasana, The Mexico Guru, is a leading authority on Mexican business practices and communication, and author of Insider Secrets How to do Business in Mexico. Villasana has been profiled in several articles and magazines, including the San Diego Business Journal. An international speaker, Villasana has given keynotes and presentations in both the U.S. and Mexico and most recently during his speaking tour at Texas universities. Through his company, Marketing To Mexico, he has shown companies such as Cisco Systems and AT&T how to enter the Mexican market and quickly become profitable.
