“GOP lawmakers are attempting this week to bring an immigration enforcement bill to the floor with a rare procedural move known as a “discharge petition.”

Supporters need 218 lawmakers to sign the petition in order to bypass a committee and bring the legislation up for a vote in the full House.”*
