“Dallas should do more to increase the number of Hispanic contractors working with the city, Mayor Tom Leppert told about 50 people from the Latino community who were gathered for a meeting Monday evening in Oak Cliff.

But the responsibility for increasing those numbers should be shared, he said, encouraging Hispanic-owned companies and their advocates to be more aggressive in competing for city contracts.

During the meeting at Las Ranitas Restaurant on Jefferson Boulevard, Mr. Leppert talked about his initiatives and progress on economic, public security and education issues.”*
