Spanish thrillers swept the lion’s share of awards at Portugal’s 28th Fantasporto — Oporto Intl. Film Festival, which wrapped on Sunday.
Zombie movie “Rec,” by newcomers Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza, won best film and audience award following a five-minute standing ovation at the screening.
Current Spanish box-office champ “The Orphanage” won for director (Juan Antonio Bayona) and actress (Belén Rueda).”*
