“The potential fatal outcome of contracting HIV is not much discussed within the Hispanic community, especially the secretive gay community, where macho attitudes have put a lock on open talk about safe sex, a health care leader here says.

To get around that attitude and prevent the spread of HIV, La Clinica, a local clinic for Hispanics that has dealt mostly with drug and alcohol abuse, is expanding its role in the fight against AIDS within Latino cultures, said Lee Wipfli, manager of La Clinica.”*
