“Chicago Rockford International Airport is in the running for year-round service to Mexico.

Airport Executive Director Bob O’Brien is in talks with an international carrier considering starting service between the Chicago area and Mexico by the end of the year. O’Brien said the airline doesn’t yet fly in the United States, but it is a low-cost carrier with a hub-and-spoke model. He said the airline would fly from the U.S. to a Mexican hub, with connecting flights throughout Mexico.”*
