Ex-Waco mayor, Hispanic leader Ruben Santos dies

Ruben Santos, former mayor and Baylor University’s Student Union director, served his adopted hometown of Waco by touching the lives of young people, everyday citizens and city leaders.

Santos, 71, died at home early Wednesday morning after months of battling the auto-immune disease scleroderma, a chronic condition resulting in inflammation of skin and sometimes internal organs.”*
