Gracia has long been the public face of Northtown, traditionally a Latino, working-class enclave.
He’s retiring as executive director of Northtown Housing Development Corp., founded in 1993, which built homes and apartments and assisted first-time home buyers, all to help boost the neighborhood.
The effort has been successful, Councilman Dennis Michael said, because Northtown, which was visibly the poor part of town, now isn’t seen “as anything other than a nice location in Rancho Cucamonga.”"*
