Pan-American Life Insurance Company, a leading international insurance company providing life insurance, worksite benefits and financial services for more than 95 years, announced today the appointment of Eugenio Magdalena as Executive Vice President-International.
Mr. Magdalena, who will initially be based in Panama, will oversee all of Pan-American Life’s businesses in Latin America, including the International Dollar, Bancassurance and Product Development divisions.
Born in Spain, Mr. Magdalena has more than 22 years of experience managing Life, Accident and Health insurance operations in Latin America, the US and Europe. Most recently, he served as the lead country executive in Spain, for the Assurant Group. During a career at CIGNA that spanned from 1986 to 2003 he held several senior management roles in Latin America, including assignments in the company’s regional headquarters in Miami, and in Argentina, Brazil and Colombia.
Mr. Magdalena earned a degree in Economics at the Catholic University in Caracas, Venezuela, and an MBA at Cranfield School of Management in Cranfield, England.
