Four of “American Idol’s” 24 contestants got the boot tonight, but all the Latino finalists hung on for another week.

The popular FOX show has more Spanish-surnamed contestants at this stage of the game than ever before, and there are more Latinos than Latinas.

Among them is cutie David Archuleta, a 17-year-old from Murray, Utah. One blog says he comes from a musical family in which his mother sings in Spanish and English. He was born in Miami. Archuleta’s myspace page also says he’s Mormon.”*
