Yet obviously there are occasions and stages when opinions and positions range from simple disagreement to diametrically opposite views.
Situations that could be improved, or possibly worsened, if more people in or from each of the countries were genuinely bilingual – and bicultural.
Still, if more people could comprehend the broadcast and print media in one country (or one language) that regularly rail against the other, relations might degenerate further. Nevertheless, there are times and circumstances when issues, positions and commentary that would otherwise go unheard by one or the other need to be revealed and assessed.”*
