Knowledge is Power!
Calling immigration “an inevitable fact,” the archbishop of Yakima’s Mexican sister city said immigrants need to retain their religious and cultural values, but also adopt the best traits of this country.
“Immigration can have good effects, not only economically, but culturally and religiously,” the Most Rev. Alberto Suárez Inda said, speaking through a translator. “But it does not run without risks.
“It’s an exchange,” he said. “I think it is very important that in that exchange, our people do not lose their values but that they also learn the best of the culture of this country, which is discipline, work (ethic, and) legality.”"*
