Maria Adaena Márquez, MSW, director of Helping Kids to Recovery and owner of The Finest Rose, has been recognized by named Cambridge Who’s Who for her entrepreneurial skills and contributions to Los Angeles’ mental health services industry. Márquez, a V.I.P. member of Cambridge Who’s Who, hopes to grow her business to support other non-profit organizations in her community.
Ms. Márquez has been a dedicated social worker since graduating from the University of Southern California with a master’s degree in social work in 2002. Presently, she is the director of Helping Kids to Recovery, a social services agency that provides adoption, foster care and mental health services to individuals and families. Ms. Márquez’s grant-writing, program development, supervision and leadership expertise have gone a long way towards serving dually diagnosed and high-risk communities among Latinos and African-Americans in the Los Angeles area. Last year, Ms. Márquez established The Finest Rose, a wholesale and retail flower shop that caters to mostly non-profit organizations. The floral shop was established in the hopes of producing capital to assist other non-profit organizations. Its staff is committed to offering the finest arrangements and gifts, backed by service that is friendly and prompt. Ms. Márquez is currently in the process of developing a website (www.TheFinestRose.net) for the operation.
Ms. Márquez is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, the Latino Alumni Advisory Committee and MANA, a national Latina organization that strives to empower Latinas through leadership development, community service, and advocacy.
