Cuban natives living in Central Indiana are talking about Tuesday’s news in their homeland.
News of Fidel Castro’s resignation struck a nerve with Indianapolis’ small Cuban population. Many feel even with the dictator stepping down, the harsh living conditions in the island nation will remain the same.
The song “Cuba Libre”, which literally means “free Cuba”, played at the beginning of a segment on La Que Buena - AM 810. The discussion Tuesday morning was about the resignation of Fidel Castro. Reverend Samuel Ruiz, a leader of Central Indiana’s Hispanic community, who is originally from Cuba, says the change in Havana will be subtle.”*
