Leading Cuba scholars will gather at Florida International University this week for the 7th Conference on Cuban and Cuban American Studies hosted by FIU’s Cuban Research Institute.
The conference, Cuba 2008: Counterpoints of Continuity and Change, will take place Wednesday through Friday at Florida International University — University Park, 11200 SW Eighth Street. Panels will feature scholars who study Cuba and Cuban Americans and will focus on the current political, economic, cultural and social dynamics on the island and beyond. The four central themes will be politics and economy, social actors and issues, diaspora and politics of arts and culture.”*
