La Salsa® Mexican Grill, the quick-casual Mexican chain today announced it has named Odette Valles as the La Salsa Franchisee of the Year for 2007. Mrs. Valles is the first La Salsa franchisee and signed on to open her first location in 1988. She currently owns and operates, with her partners, four La Salsa locations in the greater San Diego area and opened the newest location in November 2007 in Liberty Station. The honor of 2007 Franchisee of the Year is being given to Mrs. Valles based on her long term commitment to La Salsa and a continued promise to quality and sales.
“Mrs. Valles was the first La Salsa franchisee and has spent two decades building and maintaining the La Salsa brand in her local market,” said James Walker, Chief Development Officer for La Salsa. “We are honored to have Mrs. Valles as part of the La Salsa family as she exemplifies La Salsa’s brand and commitment to deliver high quality Mexican fare.”
Mrs. Valles and her partners opened their first La Salsa location in 1998 and have since opened three additional locations throughout San Diego. The most recent location is 2200 square feet with a very authentic Mexican look and feel.
“I am honored to be named Franchisee of the Year. Since we opened our first location almost two decades ago, we knew La Salsa would set the standard for offering Mexican food that appealed to a broad customer base,” said franchisee of the year, Odette Valles, “We are very proud of our Mexican heritage and remain committed to serving the freshest food that has made us a well known favorite.”
About La Salsa
In 1979 La Salsa first opened as a chain of Mexican “taquerias”. These are neighborhood restaurants where locals and gourmets alike, gather to eat the “specialty of the house” - the soft tacos, which are so much a part of the Mexican culture.
Today, La Salsa owns and operates an expanding chain of quick, casual restaurants specializing in tacos, burritos and other items served in the style of Mexico.
The hallmark of the La Salsa restaurants is the display kitchen and a fresh salsa bar, which allows customers to garnish their food with a wide variety of La Salsa’s “signature” salsas and trimmings.
La Salsa’s personalized approach combined with the Company’s reputation for serving fresh, healthy food, provides a unique and consistent experience to a broad range of customers in the community. This approach results in significant positive word-of-mouth and repeat business.”*
