“America is a nation of nations. Puerto Rico Sen. Kenneth McClintock wants to add one more to the state ranks.

The United States territory’s Senate president has been rallying for years to give Puerto Rico residents a genuine choice about statehood.

In past territory-sponsored referendums, the majority of Puerto Rican residents have voted no on statehood, but that doesn’t reflect the true public opinion, McClintock said.”*
